NEW! MA in Theology & the Arts

The Field of Music & Media Arts is thrilled to announce the launch of a new MA in Theology & the Arts through the Moody Theological Seminary.

OVERVIEW

What does it mean to cultivate a theological imagination? Could it be that songs, stories, and paintings are actual sites of encounter with our Triune God? How does the Holy Spirit meet us in liturgies, poems, and films? And how might we foster goodness and beauty for the life of a culture?

Moody Theological Seminary is pleased to announce a new Master of Arts in Theology & the Arts! This program invites students to develop a robust theological imagination and attend to the revelation of God in and through the arts for the flourishing of the church and the life of the world.

This academic program equips Christian artists, musicians, storytellers, and media professionals with a solid theological foundation for their craft. Each student selects one of the following four tracks as a specialization: (1) worship & liturgical arts (for worship leaders and musicians), (2) the practicing artist (for visual artists and filmmakers), (3) wordcraft (for writers and storytellers), or (4) communication and culture (for communications professionals and media theorists).

The Four Tracks in the MA in Theology & the Arts

The program is designed as a choose-your-own adventure, so you can take the electives that best suit your personal and vocational needs. This brand new, one-of-a-kind program launches in fall of 2026.
